Class Description
Ms. Hoaas’ class explores the differences between physicality and theatricality and analyzes the different approaches of US and European dance. The workshop includes students playing with creative tasks and imagery within technical structures.

Performance
Ms. Hoaas will perform excerpts from her work Plastic Memory, which is a new evening-length work commissioned by Dance House Norway to premiere in March 2007. The work is for four dancers and musician Laurent Cosani. Plastic Memory explores the play between society’s collective memory and code, and the individual’s private memory and references by investigating the symbiotic relationship between memory and emotion as vehicles for expression of identity.
