TRASA urban arts collective and Brittany Reese Dance/Active Arts are
proud to present Plastic Memory, a new evening-length performance
by Kari Hoaas. Premiered at Dance House Norway, Oslo, in March of 2007,
Plastic Memory explores the play between society’s collective
memory and code, and the individual’s private memory and references
by investigating the symbiotic relationship between memory and emotion
as vehicles for expression of identity.

Plastic Memory was created on the road, in the spaces where
cultures intertwine, where memories create the backdrop for new expectations
and experiences. Featuring Sittibancha Bahmpen, Kari Hoaas, Silje Høgaas,
Mei-Yin Ng, and Antonio Ramos, Plastic Memory changes and evolves
with each new venue.
Plastic Memory is a Kari Hoaas/damage control production created
with the support of Art Council Norway and the Norwegian Fund for Performing
Artists. The performance was created, in part, in residency at Cia Lantana,
Barcelona Spain.
