the Pickle Company, Plan-B Theatre Company and the SLC Film Center, in collaboration with HEAL Utah, the American West Center and Utah Bioneers present:

EXPOSED
A month of events exploring the legacy of nuclear testing

October 12 – November 24, 2007 (complete schedule)

Originally conceived around the play EXPOSED, directed by Jerry Rapier and produced by Plan-B Theatre Company, this series represents the vital examination by local individuals and organizations of wide array of issues connected to our government’s past and future testing of nuclear weapons.

EXPOSED, the new play by local playwright Mary Dickson, combines personal memoir with powerful historical documentation to capture the downwinder experience and the human consequence of four decades of nuclear testing. “The play serves both to bear witness and give warning,” says Dickson. “It’s amazing how many community events have been created around the play to help expand the message that our downwind history is never erased, nor relived. The art exhibit with some of the city’s best artists, many of whom are downwinders themselves, or connected to the issue in some way fell into place as did a film series, lectures, panels and discussions. It’s been a wonderful community convergence using the power of language and art to powerfully express the tragedy of nuclear testing and its continuing human costs."
