Activism through Art The Pickle Company is a multidisciplinary arts center located in the industrial Granary District of downtown Salt Lake City. Built in the late 1800s, the 14,000 square-foot, restored pickle factory provides a dynamic, non-traditional setting for artists to develop, exhibit, and perform contemporary new work. The Pickle Company's studio facilities, combined with our unique exhibition and performance spaces, provide artists of all media the opportunity for in-depth exploration, collaboration, and risk. With a focus on contemporary sociopolitical and cultural issues, The Pickle Company's programming utilizes art to stimulate community interaction, cooperation, and evolution. We offer on-site classes and workshops, sponsor projects in schools and community settings, and participate in projects with other Salt Lake non-profit organizations, social service agencies, and community groups. The Pickle Company is sustained by TRASA Urban Arts Collective. Emphasizing diversity and experimentation, TRASA encourages creative and social dialogue between artists, audiences, and the community and provides a non-competitive space for individuals to share ideas, knowledge and resources. Through cooperative relationships, we promote interdisciplinary learning and thought-provoking experiences, and provide a safe and supportive public environment for the exploration of art, performance, education, and community-building.
